While the leaders of the Philippines and South Korea met to conduct deals between the two governments, media representatives from both countries were also inking partnerships of their own, as per Robin Padilla’s updates on his Instagram.
Padilla showered praises on director Joyce Bernal for going to South Korea through her own means to meet with a South Korean media company. “Sinagot niya ang kanyang sariling pamasahe sa eroplano papunta sa south korea bilang isang delegado ng ating Inangbayan Pilipinas (She shouldered her own plane fare to South Korea as a delegate of our motherland the Philippines)!”
“Pati ang kanyang hotel pati na rin ang pantaxi at pangkain lahat ay sariling gastos niya at ng Spring Productions (She and Spring Productions also spent for her hotel accommodation, taxi fare and food ),” he revealed.
Spring Productions is Bernal’s production company with Piolo Pascual and Erickson Raymundo.
In the pictures that the actor shared, Bernal is seen posing with Korean representatives at KBS Media and the Seoul Film Commission. South Korean television personality Ryan Bang, who was raised in the Philippines, was also in pictures of the meeting.
“Napakainam na mabuksan ang pintuan para magkaroon ng partnership! Isang co production (It is good to open the doors to have a partnership! A co-production)!” Padilla shared.
“Ang dalawang Bansa ay nais na palakasin ang relasyon bilang magkaibigan at magkamag anak (The two nations hope to strengthen their relations as friends and family),” he explained.
Could Padilla be dropping hints on what the new project would be? He said, “Parte tayo ng kasaysayan ng South at North korea at tanging isang pelikula o tv series lamang ang pinakamalakas na Medium o Daan patungo sa pagkakaintindihan ng Kultura at Tradisyon ng Korea at ng Pilipinas.”
(We are part of the history of South and North Korea and only a movie or TV show is the strongest medium or way toward understanding the culture and tradition of Korea and the Philippines.)
In March 2017, Padilla joined the Philippine delegation to Russia, along with brother Rommel Padilla and actor Philip Salvador. /ra
