Sure, a chubby baby with pinchable cheeks is cute. But as much as Iya Villania wants her second son to be such, she knows that letting it grow too big in her womb could make delivery difficult, not only for her, but also for the baby.
“I don’t want both of us to have a hard time. Of course it would be cute to have a big baby, pero mahirap kapagi-iire mo na ‘yan!” she told reporters at a press conference for “San Miguel Purefoods Home Foodie.
“Only then will you realize you shouldn’t have eaten that ice cream or pizza,” she added, laughing.
That’s why the actress-television host, who’s due to give birth in August, makes sure to monitor her food
intake. “I plan when to eat. I really practice self-control,” said Iya, whose first son
Primo is about to turn 2 in August.
Aside from eating properly, Iya doubles up with exercise, despite some of her social-media followers’ misgivings.
“Exercising has always been part of my lifestyle. It’s what my body looks for, and it puts me in a happy state. It’s also what helps me become a better and happy mom,” she said. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
