Exciting lineup for Sharon

CUNETA. Busy year.

SHARON Cuneta welcomes 2012 with exciting projects: First in the lineup is “Once In A Lifetime,” her Valentine concert (Feb. 11) with Martin Nievera. It marks the first time they’ll share the stage since they began their recording careers.

The Megastar doesn’t know why it took them so long to team up: “Martin has been a friend for a long time, and he’s the ninong of my daughter, Miel. I always thought we’ve had many similarities as far as song choices are concerned. We both like George Canseco and Louie Ocampo’s ‘Ikaw’ and ‘The Promise.’ To make up for lost time, we’ll sing those songs in the concert.”

Hit songs

The two music legends will also perform their hits, like “To Love Again,” “Say That You Love Me” and “Now That You’re Gone.” Sharon became a recording artist at age 13 via the song, “Mr. DJ,” followed by a long list of hit songs. Thereafter, she reigned supreme at the box office with movies like “Maging Sino Ka Man,” “Kahit Konting Pagtingin” and “Bituing Walang Ningning.”

In March, Sharon will start a movie with Gabby Concepcion, followed by a project with close friend, Judy Ann Santos. On the small screen, TV5 is also preparing a daily show for Sharon, patterned after “Oprah.”

Sharon has never topbilled a telenovela and is open to the idea. She’s also cooking up a weekly talent search for the network. The new year also marks the Megastar’s return as a recording artist—she’s now working on a new album.
