Aicelle Santos takes short break from ‘Miss Saigon’ to recover from bad knees
Even the greatest performers need a break when they reach the limits of their physical bodies. Actress and singer Aicelle Santos, who bagged the role of “Gigi” in the international award-winning musical “Miss Saigon” earlier this year, took to her Instagram last May 27 to share that she has taken a break from “Miss Saigon” to recover from tendonitis.
“Mood for the week that was…I’ve been off from Miss Saigon for a week now to recover from bad knees (tendonitis),” wrote Santos. “Praying to be back soon, better and stronger! For now, I will remain patient and positive! I receive Your healing Jesus. Sending everyone positivity and love this Sunday!”
It will be remembered that Santos first auditioned for the 2014 West End revival of “Miss Saigon” years ago, but was shortlisted only when the role of “Gigi” was given to fellow singer and theater actress Rachelle Ann Go. It seemed, though, that it was only a matter of time until Santos got her big break as she finally won the role this year.
Santos has been working hard since then to gear up for the role, and it looks as if she’s been nothing short of brilliant in her portrayal of “Gigi” in the UK shows of Miss Saigon.
