One never knows just how far bashers would go to spread their vitriol and hate. Actress-singer Agot Isidro has become the object of such loathing of many bashers in social media; whether it’s down to her criticism of the government or just her plain outspokenness about various issues, her bashers appear not to run out of things to threaten her with.

Isidro took to her Twitter two days ago, May 29, to share screenshots of a netizen violently threatening her in one of her tweets that day about the Manila skyline, where she asked if what she was seeing was smog or fog.

Kailangan ba umabot tayo sa ganito?” Isidro asked.

The netizen’s tweet read, “Malaman ko lang [presscon] mo pupunta talaga ako. I’ll make sure labnos mukha mo sa asido.

“F*ck you PO! Aalamin ko venue ng [presscon] mo bubuhusan talaga kita ng asido,” wrote the netizen in another tweet.

Many rallied behind Isidro and immediately reported the netizen’s account. Meanwhile, other Twitter users tagged the Philippine National Police’s official Twitter hotline account to report the netizen.

Bawal po sa batas yan. Threat po yan. Pwede po kayo kasuhan,” wrote the PNP Twitter account to the netizen whose tweets and account have now been deleted.

(Thanks for tagging us. You may complain to the PNP Anti Cyber Crime for threats like this. It’s not right to threaten people that you will throw acid at them. You will answer to the law.)

The PNP hotline has since reported the online threat of violence to the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (@PNPACG), and Isidro has extended her thanks to the hotline.

In her follow-up tweet made last night, Isidro also thanked her followers for reporting the netizen and told everyone to take care.

“Thank you for reporting, guys. I think suspended na siya. Mag-ingat tayong lahat. #PanahonNgHalimaw kasi.”

(Thank you for reporting, guys. I think the account has been suspended. Let’s all be careful. It’s the season of the beast.)

In the past, Isidro has received death wishes and rape threats for speaking against the Duterte administration. Her name has also been dragged by a “fake news” site in an article, including “quotes” that she never said. JB
