Kapamilya actor Diego Loyzaga got questioned by some netizens over his intriguing post in the now closed island resort of Boracay. It was not clear however if the post was real time or a throwback.

Since its closure since April 26, only residents are allowed to enter the island for its rehabilitation over the next six months. With the closure, seeing Loyzaga enjoying the powdery white sands and blue shorelines of Boracay is a matter of grave concern.

In Loyzaga’s post last May 18, he was shown basking under the summer sun with two friends. Note that his location in the post was Shangri-La Boracay.

His caption was “Imagine if i never met the broskies.”

Such post triggered reactions from the netizens mostly questioning how he got into the island within its closure period.

Another netizen then commented that the actor might have eased his way into the island because his father, veteran actor Cesar Montano is Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) chief operation officer.

Loyzaga however quickly denied such accusation and said he never used “connections.”

As stipulated in the presidential proclamation, only locals are allowed to enter the island. Therefore, no tourists and outsiders are allowed inside the world-famous beach destination. As per the closure non-residents and not even media personnel are allowed to swim in its waters.

As this was pointed out by some netizens, the young actor put on a joke that seemed to aim at justifying his post. He said, “locals kami.”

And so, some netizens could not help but throw flak at the actor and accused him of just warranting attention from the public.

However, some others stood for Loyzaga and tried to calm angered netizens by saying it was only a throwback photo.

Meanwhile, INQUIRER.net has already sought for the statement of Loyzaga’s management Star Magic for their official statement on the matter. As for initial information, Star Magic said that as far as  they know, it was indeed only a throwback photo but they’re currently vetting the information from Loyzaga himself.   /muf
