Reigning Miss Universe 2017 Demi Leigh Nel-Peters grabbed a popular Filipino snack, Jollibee choco pie, before leaving the country on Wednesday.
On Instagram on Wednesday, Nel-Peters posted a photo of herself in the airport and holding the Jollibee snack.
She also showed her love for the country by wearing an “I Heart Manila” and
captioning her post, “Happiness. Thank you Philippines. I love you so much!”
Peters is a South African national who happens to be the second beauty queen to win the Miss Universe crown for her country.
Nel-Peters was in the Philippines to join her fellow Miss Universe beauties Pia Wurtzbach and Iris Iris Mittenaere in a series of events.
One of the occasions they graced was the “Grit and Gram” event at the Cove Manila which featured the “World’s Strongest Men” winners Hafthor Bjornsson, Matins Licis, and Robert Oberst.
Catriona Gray, former Miss World-Philippines and now the country’s bet for the next Miss Universe pageant, was also spotted at the event. /vvp
