Janelle Manahan visits Ramgen Revilla’s grave

MANILA, Philippines—Janelle Manahan on Saturday visited the grave of her slain boyfriend Ramgen Revilla for the first time since she got out of the hospital.

Her lawyer described the visit as the start of her healing process.

Manahan was accompanied by her mother, a close friend and lawyers to the Revilla mausoleum at Angelus Eternal Garden in Imus, Cavite.

According to her lawyer, Argee Guevarra, Manahan’s camp had told the Revilla family, through Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., of her plans in order to avoid “any untoward incident.”

The Revillas, in turn, sent someone to guide Manahan at the cemetery, Guevarra said.

Manahan brought a bouquet of white flowers and spent 30 minutes alone at Ramgen’s grave, while her companions stayed at a distance. When Manahan returned, she was sobbing, Guevarra said.

“I’m not a psychologist but I think (the visit) helped in her healing process,” Guevarra said in a phone interview.

Ramgen Revilla, whose real name was Ramgen Jose Bautista, was the eldest of the nine children of former senator and actor Ramon Revilla Sr. and Genelyn Magsaysay. He was murdered while Manahan was shot in the face when an unidentified gunman attacked them inside his home in BF Homes, Paranaque City, on Oct. 29, 2011.
