After the wave of mudslinging aimed at good friend Angeline Quinto and her family, Kapamilya singer Erik Santos went on to remind the public that cyberbullying is a crime.

In a Twitter post, Santos gave this advice to people: “Check the facts first before you criticize or judge! #NoToCyberbullying”

In another post, he also reminded netizens: “Think before you click. Cyberbullying can be addressed under civil law or criminal law, based on the situation. FYI.”

Santos’s post, unfortunately, served as a platform for netizens to debate. Some defended pop star Sarah Geronimo over Quinto while others stood on the other side.

Recently, Quinto made the headlines when she, together with fellow power belter Morisette Amon, allegedly laughed at Geronimo during the latter’s controversial break down during a concert.

The accusations and threats on Quinto’s life and her family’s prompted the singer cry foul on Twitter. She also went as far as seeking legal help to track down the the bashers who threatened her and her mother.

In her posts, she asked Geronimo’s fans – called Popsters – to produce the mystery video that supposedly showed her and Amon laughing at Geronimo. /atm
