The Queen of All Media is officially back on the big screen. Aquino is set to star in “I Love You, Hater”, Star Cinema’s latest film involving onscreen and real life love birds Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto.
This is Aquino’s comeback to ABS-CBN after leaving the network giant about two years ago, and she is nothing but excited.
Last Tuesday, April 24, Aquino shared a snap on Instagram showing them on the first day of the movie shoot. She took note of how friendly Garcia was, approaching her and talking to her as soon as she arrived. She also commended Barretto for still looking fresh, beautiful and positive despite obviously being so tired.
Aquino plays the role of Sasha in the upcoming JoshLia movie, a broadcast journalist who eventually built her own media empire. In the story, Garcia and Barretto will compete against each other to bag the most coveted job of being Sasha’s new executive assistant.
Aquino did not hold back in telling her fans just how much she missed the movies, at the same time praising Garcia for his artistry.
“W/ 100% honesty & the utmost humility- AAMININ KO (I admit), I MISSED THE MAGIC OF MOVIE MAKING,” wrote Aquino last night as she shared a photo of her with Garcia. “Finished our 1st sequence, napakahusay ni @garciajoshuae (Garcia was very good). 🤩 Thank you @starcinema, napakasarap bumalik sa (it feels so good to return to my) 1st love ko. #shooting#lovelovelove.”
In a separate post, she praised the young actress Barretto, sharing a photo of the two of them during their script reading. Aquino called Barretto’s focus “super impressive,” and realized that the reason she develops special bonds with the girls she’s worked with in the past is because of their talent. Aquino said she would be proud to have such young talented women as her daughters.
Even with the relentless Aquino finding herself weary in the end — she had to wear neon pink stilletos from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. — it was a successful first day of shooting. JB
