Were Paolo Ballesteros and Solenn Heussaff “Prima Donnas” in the making of ‘My 2 Mommies’?
I was invited and got to attend the Grand Press Conference for ‘My 2 Mommies’ by Regal Entertainment, Inc. just two nights ago.
After getting to conduct a brief interview with the lead stars, Paolo Ballesteros and Solenn Heussaff, during the media Q&A portion, a thought crossed my mind. Indeed, a friendship between actors is not only tested in real life but also onscreen.
I am not going to give away any spoilers here when it comes to the movie. Rather, I will be focusing on the lead stars of ‘My 2 Mommies’ namely, Paolo Ballesteros and Solenn Heussaff.
My opinion of Paolo Ballesteros is that he has always been a resilient actor, be it in comedy or drama. His acting skills have always come off as very fluid and convincingly natural.
An aside, but noteworthy to mention, is that Paolo Ballesteros has the magical touch of being able to “transform” himself into many images and guises. This is no small feat, mind you! He has mastered to a “T” the art of make-up. This is talent and a gift that even professional make-up artists do not possess.
Paolo Ballesteros also exhibits a not so often seen sincere camaraderie with his fellow actors and actresses that indicates to me he is a fun, lighthearted, and happy-go-lucky person to be around with. However, once the cameras start rolling he is serious and will do what is asked of him. A true and consummate artist, Paolo Ballesteros is.
Now, let’s go to the sultry, smart, and sexy Solenn Heussaff. Somehow, each time I see her in commercials, on television, and in the movies, I keep getting reminded of a young Cameron Diaz. In my mind’s eye, Solenn Heussaff is like her Filipino counterpart.
Solenn Huessaff is the lead co-star of Paolo Ballesteros in ‘My 2 Mommies’ by Regal Entertainment Inc. This is where the camaraderie and respect they have for one other are very clear. During the course of my short interview with the both of them, I learned that Paolo Ballesteros and Solenn Huessaff are, in fact, good friends in real life.
So, that was a wise and smart decision by Regal Entertainment, Inc. to pair Paolo Ballesteros up with Solen Heussaff. Their natural chemistry together will pull up their on-screen dynamic that is so essential to making this movie ‘My 2 Mommies’ a fun rollicking and enjoyable ride for cinema-goers. A sure winner, this movie will be.
‘My 2 Mommies’ is definitely going to be a quality movie that should not be missed by all because you will not only have very dynamic and established actor and actress, Paolo Ballesteros and Solenn Heussaff, in it but you will also see a supporting cast as well in the likes of Joem Bascon, Dianne Medina, and Marcus Cabais. And lastly, no less than the Diamond Star herself, Maricel Soriano, has a special participation, too.
Come May 9, 2018, let us all watch ‘My 2 Mommies’ starring Paolo Ballesteros and Solenn Heussaff when it is shown in cinemas nationwide. This film is directed by Eric Quizon and released by Regal Entertainment, Inc.
Here below are my questions to Paolo Ballesteros and Solenn Heussaff.
Question: After the filming of the movie was completed, can you share with us the feedback you got from director Eric Quizon regarding your work ethic or performance?
Also, what has he told you is the one thing that makes you different or unique from other comedians?
Paolo Ballesteros: Wala naman siya sinabi na direk pero na cu-compare niya ako sa dad niya at nakikita daw niya ang form ko sa daddy niya. And pag sabihan ka ng ganun, it is an honor. Siyempre, sabihan ka ba naman ng ganun… Tito Dolphy yun. Likewise din naman, feedbackkay direk Eric very light ka trabaho, magaling na direktorand mabilis.
Solenn Heusaff: Ako din naman, wala siya sinabidirectly to my face. Pero happy naman siya sa work ko. And if he is not happy with any scene, I think sasabihin naman niya like: “Try mo ito” or “Try mo ang ganyan.” But he will never say: “Bad ka dito!”
Kasi, siyempre naman, we all have our own interpretations when it comes to scenes.
Question: Was it a breeze working with each other because you two seem to be fun-loving persons and who can laugh at yourselves from time to time.
On the other hand, did you also have meltdown moments or prima donna moments?

Paolo Ballesteros: In fairness to Solenn, wala ako masasabi sa kanya na may “prima donna” moments siya, or what. I’ve worked with her sa Eat Bulaga pa before and I have always said this, na laging siyang maaga, on time.
And this was way before pa Eat Bulaga pa eto, ha. Pag may production number siya maaga siya dumadating and first siya dun. Tapos, she does her own make-up. Yan yung mga observations ko sa kanya before. And now, pag dating sa shooting namin, ganun pa rin siya.
Kahit galing pa siya sa ibang shooting, diretso na siya samake-up at bihis. And the rest ng araw, kung kailangan siya sa set, bihis na siya parati. At hindi mahirap tawagin.
