The senator has been detained while facing a trial for a non-bailable multi-million plunder case.

The “Ang Agimat” starrer has been accused of pocketing P224 million worth of kickbacks from his Priority Development Assistance Fund, or what is now known as the PDAF or pork barrel scam.

Sen. Bong has been allowed to leave detention once in a while by the Sandiganbayan for various occasions in the past. In February of 2017, he got permission to visit his father at the hospital following the Revilla patriarch’s request to have his son on his bedside prior his heart surgery.

In 2015, he also got out temporarily to visit his son Jolo after the younger Revilla sustained a gunshot wound in the chest. /jpv
