Big reveal: It’s a baby girl for James and Mic by end June
Ma cherie amie, Mic Cazzola and my migo James Yap are “infanticipating” once again. This time around, it’s a baby girl. Their son MJ is turning 2 in August. Mic is due to give birth by the end of June.
The fab couple shared the good news with me during the birthday bash of James, as early as February. But they told me not to write about it yet. In a previous column, my headline was: James and Mic raring to make a special revelation. It’s time for the big reveal about their date with the stork.
I teased them both that since they have good genes, they ought to make more babies to form a basketball team just like James’ PBA ball club, Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. Viva la Familia Filitaliana.
Here’s my chat with Mic:
What name have you chosen for your baby girl? James wants an Italian name, so I am thinking of some classic names.

Article continues after this advertisementTell us the latest about your baby boy. We just came back from Italy and we had so much fun. Every time we travel and we go back home, it’s like he learned so much. He has new words to say, as I am teaching him to name something both in English and in Italian. He’s a very extroverted boy; he likes the company of people. At the restaurant, he smiles at everybody.
How would you handle it if MJ gets “jealous” of his baby sister? He’s a sweet boy. But we’ll see when the baby arrives! If he gets jealous, I’m planning to keep them together, like we can stay in the same room… It’s important to make him feel included in every step.
What was the highlight of your fam’s vacay in Italy? The food (laughs). Actually, the best part is staying together the whole time.
How has your relationship with James evolved? I get less mad about certain things. Priorities change, so I mind less if things in the house, for example, aren’t in perfect order. I understand more if he wants to spend time with friends riding his bike. Before it was all about him and me, but now I’m thinking more of the overall picture. He spends time with his son. For me, that’s what matters the most. Time given is the most precious gift.
How do you and James discipline and spoil MJ? Our son has a strong personality. If he wants something, he gets it, regardless of what we tell him! So James and I try to be firm when it’s something we don’t allow. We don’t do the good cop and bad cop [routine].
As for spoiling, we don’t do that much, actually.
Will you and James allow MJ to do TV commercials? Yes, as long as we’re comfortable with it.
How many kids do you plan to have? For now, I’m OK with two (laughs).
