A mark of a true rapper is being able to create poetic rap lines over any random topic.
Hip-hop artist and rapper Abra proved this during his live guesting on Inquirer ShowbizLive last April 11, Wednesday.
While some may think his and other freestyle rappers’ lines are scripted, Abra showed the livestream viewers how he thinks fast and makes witty poetic rap lyrics over a random topic.
His freestyle rap skills were first tested over the word “Facebook.”
He rapped, “Facebook, andun nag-u-upload ng picture, kahit si Georgie kahit mukha siyang creature. Siya ay maraming likes, siya ay hype na hype. Kaya ko mag-freestyle all night! Tapos i-u-upload niya mamaya tapos sasabihin niya, ‘uy galing ah walang hiya. Ibang klase, ‘di na niya inisip pa, sobrang lalim ‘di na niya maisip pa. May mga taong dumaan tatlo ay na’ko, eto na si Abra bano daw kuno. Pero sabi ko sa kanila ina mo, ang ina mo ay nanay mo kaya magaling ako.”
In a post-live session, Abra was given four more current topics to rap about. With the aid of a hip-hop beat, he busted out some witty put-downs that elicited jaw-dropping reactions from the audience.
The topics given to him were President Rodrigo Duterte, Boracay, Grab, and Uber.
