Remember Dr. Evil? He’s back not to destroy the world, but to tell Jimmy Fallon he got kicked out of US President Donald Trump’s Cabinet.
Mike Myers revived one of his famous personas for one night only in a “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” sketch aired Thursday, much to the delight of viewers.
Fallon first teased that he got an exclusive interview with a cabinet member who just got booted from his post. From there, Dr. Evil—in his famous gray suit sitting in his chair—turned around and revealed himself to be the mystery man the talk-show host was talking about.
Cracking a joke, Dr. Evil revealed that it was his idea to build Trump’s controversial wall between the US and Mexico. “But I wanted it to be a moat with spiky blow fish,” he said about his plan. “But I didn’t want the Mexicans to pay for it; I wanted Alec Baldwin to pay for it,” he added, referring to the actor known for his impersonations of the President.
And was he behind Trump’s other ideas such as the “Space Force” and the deportation of undocumented immigrants who entered the country as children, a.k.a. “The DREAMers”? Dr. Evil laughed it off and said, “No, Jimmy. Even I have my limits. I’m evil but I’m not a monster!”
At least Dr. Evil made a friend: US Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson. They connected because they were “both evil doctors that didn’t know why we were there.”
Now that he’s out of the job, Dr. Evil plans to “spend time being evil with the family,” and will promote his new book “Fire and Fury and also Evil and more Fire and also Magma Too,” a spin-off from the tell-all book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.”
Dropping the final bomb, he announced he would be running for the presidency in 2020, tagging Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg as his running mate “for being the most hated man right now” after the controversial data breach between the social media platform and British political consulting firm Cambridge Analytica. Topping it all off, Dr. Evil had the last laugh, and even asked Fallon to “evil laugh” with him too.
The character was known to be the nemesis of British spy Austin Powers, also played by Austin. He appeared in all three movies: “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,” “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me” and “Austin Powers in Goldmember.” /ra
