Coco wants to make peace with Matteo

/ 09:10 PM January 09, 2012

I got to chat with Coco Martin at the New Year’s party of our shoe sponsor, Wade. He was in high spirits as he went table-hopping and posed for snapshots.

Since it’s time for a fresh start, has he wiped the slate clean with Matteo Guidicelli after their brawl over Maja Salvador?

“Nagpapakiramdaman pa kami,” he says. “Nagkikita kami sa events pero di pa kami nagpapansinan. Mahirap kasi, pareho kaming lalaki so medyo pataasan pa ng pride. Siguro maganda kung may mag-mediate sa amin na right person. Pero okay din kung kusa ang pagbabati namin. Sa tingin ko naman sigurado this year magkakaayos din kami.”

Show biz is such a small world. It would be healthier for its denizens to keep the air less polluted with anger lest it self-destructs.

Between the lines

Karylle would rather not define the state of her relationship with Yael Yuzon. “I shared too much with the public in my previous relationship,” she muses. “So I’ve learned my lesson. Instead of answering questions about my love life, I wrote na lang all my sentiments in the songs on my new album, ‘Road Trip.’ Bahala na ang public to read between the lines.”

Yael gave her a herb garden for Christmas. Will he promise her a rose garden and a conjugal home next?

Is there a song for her ex Dingdong Dantes and a song for Yael on her album? That you have to find out by listening to all the 14 original tracks. K is way past the Dong chapter of her life and is open to the possibility of working with him if a worthwhile project comes along.

Worm-like?

How does she feel that Dong won best actor in the Metro Manila Film Festival? “I know that’s something he has always wanted,” she says. “I have not watched ‘Segunda Mano,’ though. I probably will to support Ate Kris (laughs). Sana ’wag naman magalit sa akin ang fans ni Dong when I compared him to a talimok (a worm). When I was in Palawan with my band, they dared me to eat a talimok. Parang ‘Fear Factor.’ Nagulat sila when I did. In a way, it’s like my recovery from my breakup with Dong. I had to face and overcome it.”

After all the detours her heart took, K now happily embarks on her “Road Trip” and she’s on the way to a place of total bliss.
