After two years of marriage, R&B star Usher and his wife, Grace Miguel, decided “to separate as a couple, after much thought and consideration.”
“We remain deeply connected, loving friends who will continue supporting each other through the next phases of our lives,” the couple said in a statement to US Weekly.
Lawsuit
While they didn’t disclose the reason behind the breakup, not a few speculated that a lawsuit, filed by a woman accusing him of giving her herpes, was one of the possible factors. The lawsuit was dismissed last November.
“The enormous amount of love and respect that we have for each other will only increase as we move forward,” the couple added.
