Robin Padilla backs Bong Go’s senatorial bid

Robin Padilla has given a push to Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go’s bid for a senatorial position in 2019.

The action star posed with a poster that read “Ready! Set! Go!” with Go’s illustrated face plastered over the “o.”

He also wore a white shirt that said “I am Duterte” with the President’s signature fist bump and the words “JustGoIt.”

Padilla said President Duterte needed people like Go to bring changes in government.

Hindi natin magagawa ito ng puro satsat (The President needs his closest allies in theSenate to fast-track changes in government. We cannot do this through idle chatter),” he wrote.

Only we can bring the change since the change starts with us! The first thing we should change are the faces in the senate),” he declared.

In a video, he emphasized that Go would help hasten the implementation of federalism. The actor has been vocal about his support for the new type of political system.

(We are one of those supporting Gen. Bong Go to run for senator. We believe that we need to change the faces there.)

Yung mga totoong naniniwala sa misyon and visyon ni Mayor Duterte (Now, we need General Bong because we believe that federalism will be quickly implemented if we place those who are truly Duterte, those who truly believe in Mayor Duterte’s mission and vision).”

He also said in another Instagram post that federalism would bring peace to Muslim Filipinos and to the entire country, adding that it would help the President protect the poor and the powerless even in far-flung areas.

Forming the Federal Republic of the Philippines will require a constitutional amendment. Critics warn that the new form of government will be anti-poor given that citizens will be taxed twice and that it could be an avenue for the President and his allies to stay in power/ra
