Robin Padilla has given a push to Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go’s bid for a senatorial position in 2019.

The action star posed with a poster that read “Ready! Set! Go!” with Go’s illustrated face plastered over the “o.”

He also wore a white shirt that said “I am Duterte” with the President’s signature fist bump and the words “JustGoIt.”

Padilla said President Duterte needed people like Go to bring changes in government.

Kailangan ng Pangulo ang kanyang pinakamalapit na kapanalig sa senado upang mapadali/mashort cut ang pagbabago ng sistema ng gobyerno. Hindi natin magagawa ito ng puro satsat (The President needs his closest allies in theSenate to fast-track changes in government. We cannot do this through idle chatter),” he wrote.

Ngayon eh, kailangan na natin si Heneral Bong sapagkat nanininiwala tayo na yung pederalismo mapapadalian kung makapaglalagay diyan ng totoong Duterte. Yung mga totoong naniniwala sa misyon and visyon ni Mayor Duterte (Now, we need General Bong because we believe that federalism will be quickly implemented if we place those who are truly Duterte, those who truly believe in Mayor Duterte’s mission and vision).”

At isa po diyan ay yung federalismo. Naniniwala po kami sa Katipunan na iyan po ang solusyon sa bansang Inang Bayan namin.

He also said in another Instagram post that federalism would bring peace to Muslim Filipinos and to the entire country, adding that it would help the President protect the poor and the powerless even in far-flung areas.

Forming the Federal Republic of the Philippines will require a constitutional amendment. Critics warn that the new form of government will be anti-poor given that citizens will be taxed twice and that it could be an avenue for the President and his allies to stay in power/ra
