Why Yassi Pressman finds being a third wheel ‘cool’

Being a perpetual third wheel makes you feel like you are neither here nor there. While your friends in a relationship are on cloud nine, you are stuck in limbo. They are already “taken,” while you are taken for granted.

Such is the dilemma of Yassi Pressman’s character in Viva Films’ “Ang Pambansang Third Wheel.” Sam Milby portrays her leading man. Their combined onscreen charms provide more than enough eye candy. We gave the entertaining film a grade of B at the Cinema Evaluation Board.

It reminds hopeful romantics that the “someday” they have been waiting for could be tomorrow. “Forever” is not overrated, after all.

My chat with Yassi:

Do you prefer older or younger guys? Older, because I want to learn a lot.

Please share any anecdote about you and Sam off-cam. He got me interested in bikes and motorcycles.

What’s the cheesiest thing a guy did for you? [Sent me] handwritten love letters.

If you could be a guy for a month, who would you want to be? Barack Obama—I want to know what it was like to lead the most powerful country in the world, and know how difficult it was.

What kind of guy would you fall for? Funny, kind-hearted, God-fearing, family-oriented.

Have you ever been a third wheel? Often, but the cool part about it is the free food.

We, the members of the Cinema Evaluation Board, intend to become more visible on social media. So, we will soon have Facebook and Instagram accounts. That way, we can share our reviews about the local films we screened. We’re also pushing for the establishment of an intensive Filipino film archive. Pinoy classics are a terrible thing to waste.

What do Madonna, Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Pablo Picasso, Nelson Mandela and Pope Pius XII have in common? They all underwent an original living cell therapy in the clinic of Dr. Siegfried Block or Dr. Paul Niehams. With more than 60 years of experience, D. Siegfried Block GmbH & Clinic is raring to help Pinoys live well and longer. (E-mail dsblockphils@gmail.com.)
