Former senator and action star Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. first had a taste of life in jail four years ago when he surrendered to the anti-graft court Sandiganbayan after allegedly being involved in the P10-billion park barrel fund scam. Before his arrest, however, he was known as a public servant or, to others, the well-loved superheroes “Panday” and “Captain Barbell.”
It seems Revilla misses life beyond bars as he took to his Facebook account yesterday from the confines of the Philippine National Police Custodial Center, in Camp Crame, Quezon City, where he has been detained since 2014, to lament his situation.
Revilla wrote he did not deserve to be incarcerated, but mentioned that he trusted the system completely—which is why he surrendered in the first place.
Despite his unfortunate situation, however, Revilla maintained that his resolve to fight for the truth would never falter, as well as his steadfast commitment to the Filipino people.
“I trust that the truth will prevail and that I will be vindicated.
In the end, he thanked those who support him, and asked them to continue praying for him. /ra
