Singer-actor Mark Bautista admits that after his heartfelt revelations about his sexuality, he unfortunately lost friends in the process. However, he feels at peace finally coming out and giving the world the whole truth about him.
Right now, he’s busy with his series of shows and tours here and abroad. Also, included in his itineraries is the promotion of his book “Beyond The Mark.”
“Masaya naman ako, busy ako promoting my book, ine-enjoy ko lang ‘yung moment after releasing the book. Ang daming nag-co-connect sa akin, nakaka-relate sila sa story,” he said in a recent interview with GMA7.
He also said that while it is hard for most people to come of the closet, he did not have any qualms and hesitations while writing his book especially on the part of his controversial admissions.
“Especially those parts na medyo about relationships and all that, tuloy-tuloy lang eh, bumuhos lang talaga ‘yung emosyon ko that time when I wrote it na parang kung mabasa man nila; yung book makikita naman nila na tuloy-tuloy lang ‘yung buhos ng puso ko ‘nung sinulat ko siya.”
He has also prepared himself for losing people who may have looked at his move differently.
“Na-prepare ko rin ‘yung sarili ko sa mga ganung bagay kasi ‘yun ‘yung isa sa mga fear mo eh na ‘pag nilabas mo ‘to marami talagang mag-di-distance sa’yo, maraming hindi pabor sa’yo so hinanda ko rin ‘yung sarili ko d’un.”
In his book, Bautista admitted to have been “intimate with a guy friend” who also happens to be an actor.
The 34-year-old actor was no-holds-barred in confessing the details of his “affair” with this “male friend” who at that time he said had a girlfriend.
Now he’s free and inspires people with his book and his life story. /jpv
