MANY people think of Albert Einstein merely as a physicist—but, he also had memorable insights about life. Some of them:

Not everything that can be counted counts and not everything that counts can be counted.

Men marry women with the hope they won’t be changed, while women marry men with the hope that they will.  Invariably, they both end up disappointed.

The only mistake in life is the lesson not learned.

Try not to be a man of success—instead, try to be a man of value.

Find simplicity in the clutter.  Find harmony in discord.  In difficulty lies opportunity.

If most of us are ashamed of shabby clothes and shoddy furniture, let’s be more ashamed of shabby ideas and shoddy philosophies.  It would be sad if the wrapper was better than the object it wraps.

Obligation

It is every man’s obligation to put back into the world the equivalent of what he takes out of it.

We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.

When I read the Bhagavad-gita and reflect about how God created the universe, everything else seems superfluous!

Human beings, vegetables or cosmic dust—we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible player!

Many times a day, I realize how much my outer and inner life is built upon the labors of people, both living and dead—and how earnestly I must exert myself in order to give as much as I have received.

No wealth in the world can help humanity move forward—even in the hands of the most devoted worker.  Only the examples set by great and pure individuals can lead us to noble thoughts and deeds!
