Sam Smith, the British singer-songwriter known for his powerful and emotive style of singing, is set to return to the Philippines for a one-night concert on Oct. 5 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, according to local promoter MMI Live.
The Manila stop is part of Sam’s recently announced Asian leg of his coming world tour, “The Thrill of It All,” which will kick off later this month in the United Kingdom, in support of his second album of the same title (call 4702222).
Much like fellow British pop star Adele, Sam—who previously performed in the country in 2015—has successfully tapped into his melancholy and heartache and channeled them to mainstream success.
The 25-year-old recording artist is expected to perform his latest hit, “Too Good at Goodbyes,” as well as fan favorites like “Lay Me Down,” “Stay with Me” and “I’m Not the Only One.”—ALLAN POLICARPIO
