Angel Locsin more than passes muster

LOCSIN. Hysterics-free acting style.

“So much has been written about Star Cinema’s “In the Name of Love” that seems to suggest that it’s only Aga Muhlach’s movie. I beg to disagree: The movie belongs to Aga and Angel Locsin,” says Ester Daguman, a bank employee:

“Once again, Aga proves he is the best actor of his generation. As for Angel, it was my first time to watch her on the big screen – and she more than passed muster with her hysterics-free acting style. Kudos to director Olivia Lamasan for bringing out the best in Angel!”

Other notes:

Jaime Leaño, retired NGO employee: “The antics of Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola and Paolo Ballesteros in ‘Eat Bulaga’s’  ‘Juan for All, All for Juan Sugod-Bahay sa Barangay’ portion make my day. The segment is a hit because their gags are unscripted, and their spiels don’t feel forced.

Diversity

“I also watch TV5’s ‘Talentadong Pinoy’ regularly, because of the diversity of the talents of its contestants. The hard work its production people put into the program shows. But, I wish the show would change some of its jurors, whose comments are becoming predictable and boring. And, Shalala is more irritating than funny.”

Lorna Sibala Manila, development planner: “I’m a Coco Martin fan, because of his intensity and effortless acting on ‘Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.’ I hope he will be given more challenging roles to ‘stretch’ him even more.

Pacing

“As for the series, I like its story and pacing, and its actors are uniformly good – no hysterics, except for Lorna Tolentino, whose portrayal is most likely dictated by the script.”

ABRERA (LEFT) AND SANDEJAS. Tackle interesting topics on “Full Time Moms.”

Nydia Garin, NGO legal officer: “The last time I watched  ‘Full Time Moms,’ hosted by Suzi Entrata-Abrera and Christine Jacob-Sandejas, the show tackled interesting topics, like home cures. It’s easy to watch – your eyes don’t have to be glued to the TV set all the time. You can cook, eat and wash dishes – and you won’t miss a thing.

“I switch channels from ANC to GMA News TV, especially when the former fills up its 5-6 p.m. time slot with protracted and boring phone-patch interviews.”
