What made Kathryn punch Daniel for real

She hits me with real punches,” said actor Daniel Padilla of his onscreen partner Kathryn Bernardo and the numerous fight scenes they did together for their action-fantasy series, “La Luna Sangre.”

The series aired its finale yesterday.

“I don’t mind getting punched for real by Kathryn. This happened because she didn’t know how to approximate them,” explained Daniel. “She goes all-out because she’s with me. I hope she didn’t do it to the other actors she had fight scenes with.”

Kathryn said she learned a lot from Daniel in terms of “how I should move, so I’d look more graceful onscreen. He would point out my errors by showing me the correct form. He gave his suggestions, which helped me a lot.”

Apart from the intense physicality of their characters (Malia and Tristan), Kathryn said their struggles also taught them so much about the power of true love.

“They went through a lot of things; their journey had been very difficult, but they prevailed because of their great love for each other. It’s the most powerful thing,” explained Kathryn.

The KathNiel tandem (as their love team is known), formed in 2012 via the romantic comedy series “Princess and I,” has remained the most influential and wholesome onscreen partnership today.

The duo was recently launched as brand ambassadors of the new health and beauty products company called FrontRow International.

Daniel said this was because he and Kathryn take being role models for the youth seriously. “I believe that we are who we are today because we were raised well by our parents. How you see us in public is also what we’re like in private. We remain true to our supporters,” Daniel pointed out.

Kathryn said they understand that being a celebrity is a big responsibility. “Everything has its price. Unlike ordinary people, there are certain things that we can’t do,” she pointed out. “But there are also stuff we can do, like provide for our family at a very young age. There are good and bad sides to it,” she stressed.
