Acting tips on how to ‘stay sane,’ from Claudine to Erich

Erich Gonzales plays Agatha, Erika and Carrie in “Blood Sisters”

As part of her research, actress Erich Gonzales, who’s playing triplets Agatha, Erika and Carrie in “Blood Sisters” said she got some pointers from actress Claudine Barretto.

“Mommy Pretty (Claudine) and I were able to talk during one of the dinners that she hosted. She found the show very exciting and reminded me to make sure that I stay sane,” Erich said. Claudine also played three different characters in the 1999 drama series, “Saan Ka Man Naroroon.”

“She said I shouldn’t push myself too much, especially if I feel that I am already too tired to do what the production team is making me do. But I’m the type who prefers to keep going, unless my body gives up from fatigue. On the set, people kept checking on me, but they would never hear me say I’m already too tired and want to go home,” the 27-year-old added.

Erich said that, like Claudine, the difference in clothing and the characters’ overall look helped her differentiate the three. “Erika sports the shortest hair—my real hair—and wears the simplest clothes. Carrie is a doctor and is, therefore, more sophisticated. She gets to use the most fashionable outfits. Agatha, meanwhile, has long and curly hair. She wears darker lip color and eye liner.”MARINEL R. CRUZ
