Filipino filmmaker Auraeus Solito’s “Busong” has been chosen by The Wall Street Journal as among the 10 best Asian films of the year, in a list that included Oscar contenders, festival winners and other high-profile and big-budget productions as Zhang Yimou’s “The Flowers of War,” Ann Hui’s “A Simple Life” and Johnnie To’s “Life Without Principle.” Critic Dean Napolitano wrote that Solito “merges the mystical and the familiar in this culmination of a life-long exploration of his family’s tribal origins.”
