No mother wants to hear from anybody that she is doing a bad job in, well, being a mother. Unsurprisingly, when netizens pointed out lapses in Pokwang’s manner of taking care of her baby Malia, she was furious.
The lashing out came after Pokwang uploaded a video on Instagram two days ago of her eldest daughter Mae and baby Malia both lying on the sofa. “Ate ikaw muna yaya ni Malia ha,” wrote Pokwang. “Maliligo lang ako saglit.” (Older sister, please be the one to look after Malia for a while, okay? I’ll just take a bath quick.)
Pokwang joked that she already smelled like a pig and of baby’s vomit, hence the need for a quick bath. Netizens, however, missed the lightheartedness of Pokwang’s post and pointed out that baby Malia’s foot was already dangling off the sofa.
“Ok nakakairita ha… daming epal kasi eh… salamat kung totoong concern kayo!” Pokwang. “Pero hindi naman ako BOBO para pabayaang mahulog ang anak ko sa sofa! Eksaherada ang ilang nag post ng video ko sa social media ng wala na nga pahintulot şarap ipatumba!”
(It’s annoying. So many people craving attention. Thanks if your concern is sincere. But I am not stupid to allow my baby to fall off the sofa. Some of those who posted my video on social media are exaggerated, and they did not even get my consent. It would feel good to put them down.)
Pokwang didn’t like how some comments were just made out of malice to insinuate that she is a negligent mother and Mae is a worthless sister. She also called out a local website on its presentation of its story about her daughters’ photos.
“Tigilan na ang pandarambong sa youtube or kung saan man social media nyo!” Pokwang pleaded in a separate post yesterday. “Makarami lang kayo ng viewers kung ano anong pang CLICKBAIT ang ginagamit niyo! Wag ang mga anak ko baka makapatay ako dai!”
(Stop your piracy in YouTube or social media. You’ll do anything just to get viewers. You’ll use all sorts of clickbait. Please spare my children, I might kill someone.)
Despite the little hiccup in Pokwang’s mood brought about by the netizens’ assuming comments, she still had a joyous air to her, as they had baby Malia’s first pictorial. Pokwang showed pictures of her yesterday with boyfriend Lee O’Brian and baby Malia during the shoot, courtesy of photographer Ben Asuncion.
Pokwang’s life is practically an open book; it’s the cost that comes with fame and show business, after all. Nevertheless, she never misses a beat when it comes to doting on her children and partner, as well as sharing a slice of her little family life through honest videos and stories to the public, and that just proves that she is the ultimate ulirang ina and domestic goddess.
