Get ready to be wooed once more with classics such as “Only You” and “The Great Pretender” as American music icon The Platters is back for a one-night show this February 16.
“We were traveling several islands in the Philippines and other places in Asia as well, but we came here first because this is the first love,” said The Platters veteran Deneen Davis during a press conference on Saturday at the Novotel Manila-Araneta Center. “We always wanted to start it off with a bang.”
The Platters’ post-Valentine concert will be held at the Kia Theater in Cubao Quezon City. The group also visited the Philippines for a concert in 2017.
“Traveling in other places, talking about any other places right here in Manila or in the Philippines, we love those other places, but this what you say ‘this is home’ so, we decided to be here,” Davis said.
Local talents such as JV Decena, Lilibeth Garcia, and Joaquin will join The Platters in their February 16 concert. Show starts at 8 p.m.
“Filipino singers are real singers from the heart, and I personally feel that it was long overdue that they, Filipino singers, are world class singers.” Davis said.
“They get fans nationwide because they deserve that,” she added.
Tickets for The Platters’ post-Valentine gig were priced from P795 to P3753. /kga
