Another Filipino pride is making her way into the international stage.

Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan has just been officially announced by HBS (Hunan Broadcasting System) as this week’s official challenger in the hit Chinese singing competition “Singer 2018”  set to air today, Friday (February 9).

KZ will be competing against other music stars in the number one musical reality show in China.

KZ joins “Singer 2018” on its current season’s fifth episode, following a good 3-week winning streak from British superstar, Jessie J.

KZ emerged as the show’s second international artist contestant after a rigorous screening process which shortlisted numerous artists across Asia.

“Singer 2018” is China’s most popular reality TV singing competition and pits professional singers from around the world against each other, as they vie to win audience votes.

The votes decide each week’s winner and eliminated contestant. Following the eliminations, the show introduces a new challenger.

Aside from Jessie J, KZ is up against Taiwanese pop singers Angela Changand Sam Lee and Mainland China’s young superstar Hua Chenyu this season, while former contestants of the competition include Chinese-American pop star Coco Lee and Hong Kong singer Sandy Lam.

After her win on “The X Factor Philippines,” KZ went on to achieve success as both a singer and composer and became known as the “Soul Supreme” with chart-topping hits such as “Mahal Ko o Mahal Ako” and “Huwag Ka Nang Umiyak.” She is managed by Cornerstone Entertainment Inc and Star Magic .

“Singer 2018” airs every Friday, 8 pm. The season started on January 12 and will culminate in a live finale on April13.  /muf
