Fans are mourning the death Pat Torpey, drummer and a founding member of the American rock band Mr. Big, as he succumbed to complications from Parkinson’s disease on Wednesday.

The official Twitter page of the band confirmed Torpey’s death and are asking for privacy for the family, the band and its management as of this time.

Mr. Big bassist Billy Sheehan posted on Facebook a photo of him and Torpey, saying, “Pat was one of the finest human beings I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing, and the honor of working with.”

“I Love You, Pat. You made the world a better place. We will miss you. We will never forget you. Rest In Peace, my brother,” Sheehan added in his post.

Lead vocalist Eric Martin also paid his respects to his band member. [H]e was the strongest, kindest and sweetest man that I have ever known. I can’t put into words how I feel but just to say I’m absolutely heartbroken as you can imagine,” Martin said.

Torpey was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2014, but continued to play for the band despite his condition.

Mr. Big was formed in 1989, and spawned hits such as “To Be with You” and “Just Take My Heart.” The band disbanded in 2002 and reunited in 2009.  /ra
