It seems like the cast of the teleserye “Wildflower” is now feeling the effects of the series’ nearing end this Friday, afflicted with a case of separation anxiety after nearly one year of working with each other.
Aiko Melendez, who plays the villain Emilia Ardiente-Torillo in “Wildflower”, addressed her costar Maja Salvador, who plays the main character Lily Cruz/Ivy Aguas, in a heartfelt Instagram post yesterday, Feb. 8. The two have unexpectedly gotten close with each other during their time in the series.

“It was nearly a year ago when I first met this wonderful woman @iammajasalvador who I didn’t even imagined she will be dear to me,” wrote Melendez. “Im a bit emotional only because This show gave all the cast a great opportunity. I personally gained another family with these peeps!”
Melendez made it firmly clear, too, that she isn’t saying goodbye but only see you later to Maja, who she calls “babygirl.”
“I believe this is just a start of a beautiful friendship we built during and after the show,” wrote Melendez, who also praised Salvador for her work ethic. “You are such a giving co actor! I sincerely pray for more success in all your endeavours. Please know that ate @aikomelendez will always be proud of how you’ve become as an actress. And know too, I love you with all my heart!”

Melendez didn’t forget the rest of her cast mates as she also posted yesterday a picture on Instagram of all of them doing a wacky pose.
“This is it… One year of great teamwork amongst the cast and our hardworking crew and staff,” wrote Melendez, saying her thanks to their director Ruel Bayani. “Salamat po (Thank you) for this big break. I will forever be grateful for this great experience and great project. Thank you sa trust po.”

What a cast and what a show indeed, as “Wildflower” not just broke its own ratings record, but also broke and touched the hearts of millions of viewers nationwide. As the teleserye ends this Friday, it wouldn’t be a surprise if fans too would feel a bit of separation anxiety in bidding the amazing cast of “Wildflower” so long and farewell. JB
