Kylie Padilla has been documenting her journey through motherhood and revealed in an Instagram post that she has been enjoying it more than usual.
She shared a picture of a children’s storybook “The Rainbow Fish” and said that it was once her favorite book.
“Only now that I am sharing it with Alas do I understand the meaning of the story… Share,” she mused. “No matter how beautiful you are, it does not guarantee happiness.”
She treasures reading to her son: “Storytime has become so much more emotionally binding.”
The 25-year-old actress also detailed that she experienced postpartum depression: “At 6 months postpartum I am happy and confident to say that the mood swings and postpartum depression have died down and I am enjoying this phase so much.”
“Not that I didn’t enjoy the past months, I’m just so happy to acknowledge the fact that I am in a stable place,” she explained.
The first-time mom has also previously opened up on other struggles, such as taking care of baby Alas and doing housework on her own after a helper up and left their small family.
She admitted in an earlier post in January that she was aching to work again: “I miss working and creating and it’s something I cannot leave behind. I don’t think I could leave it forever.”
She reflected that she was learning to “accept the fact that now there is no me. There is a family.”
Padilla and fiancé Aljur Abrenica celebrated Alas’ sixth month with Abrenica’s family.
Padilla said of their son, “He is happy and healthy and always laughing. Which is all you could ever want really.” JB
