Keeping their relationship low-profile, it looks like the usually secretive Jodi Sta. Maria let things slip for once to talk about her boyfriend, Cavite vice governor Jolo Revilla.
The actress admitted she considers Revilla as one of the two men who “deserves her heart”, during a joint guesting with Richard Yap in the late night talk show “Tonight With Boy Abunda” last Monday.
Making a playful reference to Sta. Maria and Yap’s new noon time romantic drama series “Sana Dalawa ang Puso”, talk show host Boy Abunda asked the actress, “Kung dalawa ang puso mo, sinong dalawang lalaki ang bibigyan mo nito at bakit?” (If you have two hearts, who are the two men whom you will give your hearts to, and why?).
To make things ever harder for Sta. Maria, Abunda said Sta. Maria’s son Thirdy should be excluded from her answer. This made Sta. Maria complain that she cannot think of an answer, to which the talk show host jokingly retorted, “Mag-isip ka.” (Think.)
Sta. Maria answered, “Kung hindi kasama si Thirdy, ‘yung kuya ko… kasi kakaunti lang naman ang [mga] lalaki sa buhay ko.” (If Thirdy is not included, [I would include] my big brother… because I only have a few men in my life.)
Before she named the second guy, she giddily readied the audience by saying, “Ito na!” (Here it goes!)
As the moment of truth came, Sta. Maria answered straight: “First time na sasabihin ko na naibigay ko na sa kanya ‘yung puso ko… kay Jolo.” (This is the first time I will admit that I already gave my heart to him… to Jolo.) This got the audience cheering, and she got a hug from Abunda.
“Wala talaga akong ibang maisip, but I have to say…” (I really can’t think of anyone else, but I have to say…) Sta. Maria followed up with a smile. Abunda replied, “Proud of you.”
Sta. Maria and Revilla have been dating since 2012, but admitted they broke up in 2016. They have not confirmed since then whether they have reunited. Katrina Hallare/JB
