“Every story needs a good antagonist,” said actress Bianca King when asked what she thought was the importance of her character, Marga Verdadero, the most-hated villainess in the recently concluded drama series, “Pusong Ligaw. ”
For Raymond Bagatsing, who plays the scheming Jaime Laurel in the show, “a kontrabida pulls the strings. Without this character, the bida will appear very boring. As it is in martial arts, we need the yin with the yang. We are the people who make it hard for the hero.”
Raymond, however, said that for every villain role he agrees to take on, “I always make sure he has a good backstory,” he explained. “It’s important for viewers to understand why he is the way he is. He used to be a good person but was forced to change because of his experiences in life. Jaime offers a lot of lessons on that part.”
Bianca said he and Raymond were aware of how viewers hated their respective characters. “It’s a good thing my ‘nonacting image’ is also known to people. I’m very open on social media about who I am in real life and the things I like. It’s my way of connecting with people,” she pointed out.
Raymond, on the other hand, said: “All my IG stories are funny. There, you will also see me goofing around with my brother RK (star of ‘Wild Flower’).” Bianca added: “He posts a lot of quotes about spirituality. He’s very much in touch with his inner self. ”
Prior to working on the ABS-CBN show, Bianca was an artist of rival network GMA 7. Asked what’s in store for her as a Kapamilya, the 32-year-old actress said: “Let’s wait and see. For the moment, I want to take a break and heal.” She recently suffered a fracture in her left arm during a snowboarding accident in Japan. “I also want to declutter my home and sleep for nine hours for at least a week,” she added.
Raymond, meanwhile, is considering the offer he recently received to do a Hollywood movie. “A friend, who is a movie producer based in the United States, e-mailed me last week, asking for my schedule for the year. She said the film would be about magic and demons,” he beamed.
