Actress Bela Padilla shared that her leading man Carlo Aquino in their new movie “Meet Me in St. Gallen” had opened up to the production team about being on the rocks with non-showbiz girlfriend Kristine Nieto.
Select members of the entertainment press caught up with the actress on Wednesday as she talked about her upcoming movie with Aquino that was shot on location in the picturesque part of Switzerland.
“He told us, he told us naman sa set in confidence. He told us not for anything but to understand kung minsan lutang siya or kung minsan natutulala siya para siguro hindi kami manibago. Saka humingi siya ng tulong na ‘nalulungkot ako today, sorry ah kung..'” Padilla said.
Nonetheless, Aquino’s performance did not diminish and the ever sharp showcase of one the ’90s best child actors, in fact, just got better.
“Gumaling nga siya lalo eh, nakatulong nga eh. Mas naging emotional ‘yung mata niya, alam mong may bitbit siya. Pagdating sa shooting, may karga ‘yung mata niya, may kargang luha,” Padilla added.
Asked if she ever gave the actor any advice, “Anong advice mabibigay ko, isang taon na kong single. Ako pa ba magbibigay ng advice kay Carlo hiyang-hiya naman ako seven years yata ‘yung relationship niya. Sabi ko ‘wag kang maglalapit sa’kin magiging single ka rin ng isang taon,” she jokingly said.
Bela and the rest of the people on set, however, gave the actor his much needed comfort during their shoot.
In the recently held intimate press interview with the actor, Carlo personally admitted that he and Nieto are indeed going through problems at the moment.
The press people did not hold back in asking him how his relationship with his longtime girlfriend is doing.
“Ano lang siguro, may inaayos,” is what he very frugally answered.
As reporters clarified with Aquino if he and Nieto are still together for purpose of proper attribution in write-ups, he only said “Huwag na lang siguro nating isulat.”
Despite being one of the best actors of this generation, “Meet Me in St. Gallen” is actually Aquino’s first male lead movie. He expressed extreme thankfulness that Spring Films has entrusted him the project.
The movie is set to hit cinemas on February 7.
