Debut invitations of presidential first granddaughter Isabelle Duterte seemed to have finally reached her guests as a special video of the grand invite surfaced in social media.
The video appeared on the Facebook account of Mannyandpie Calayan of Manny & Pie Calayan Clinic.
It showed a pink invitation with an intricate floral design and a calligraphy of Duterte’s name on the front. Once opened, a small LED screen automatically plays a video of Duterte’s pre-debut shoot in Australia and Malacañang Palace.
“Happy 18th Bday to our Manny&Pie Calayan Clinic Baby, Ms. Isabelle Duterte! Nice and unique invite!! See you on Jan 19,Isabelle!” wrote Calayan. “Two days to go and getting MannyPied for her debut!! One of PRD’s fave apos.”
Duterte herself shared a Facebook photo of her last Jan 16., being pampered in the Manny & Pie Calayan Clinic by Manny Calayan himself.
“Pre-debut pampering done right at the Manny & Pie Calayan Clinic,” wrote Duterte. “Thank you so much, Doc Manny and to my whole Calayan Family.”
Meanwhile, as Duterte’s invitation made the rounds, netizens couldn’t help but take to Twitter to air out their opinions. Admirers expressed amazement over the LED invite.
Critics, on the other hand, weren’t so impressed.
One Twitter user wrote, “So pinush pa rin ni isabelle duterte yung paglalagay ng photos nung photoshoot niya sa malacañang sa invitation niya maski ang dami nang pumuna.”
(So Isabelle Duterte went ahead anyway in putting her Malacañang pictorial photos in the invitation despite a lot of people calling her out).
Others called out the debutante-to-be about people’s tax money supposedly being spent on the celebration, or about the sheer lavishness of the invite.
Another couldn’t help but criticize the Dutertes for their lavish lifestyle when they repeatedly say they only live simply.
The LED invitations, which were created by PrintDivas, cost roughly P3,000 each, as reported by the Philippine Entertainment Portal.
Duterte is set to celebrate her debut on Jan. 19, earlier than her birthdate of Jan. 26. Venue will be The Peninsula Manila, which is classified as a five-star luxury hotel.
