Even while on vacation, Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati chose to give back to people in need.
In a YouTube video posted on Lahbati’s page on Tuesday, the couple, along with their 4-year-old son Zion, packed school supplies and hygiene kits to donate to the people of Malapascua in Cebu when they visited the island in December.
Apart from having fun under the sun as they scuba-dived and relaxed, Lahbati, her parents, Gutierrez and their tot distributed the bags to give away to the locals.
Writing the experience on her blog sarahlahbati.com, the actress said they chose to do this as it was Christmastime and that the island holds a special place for them.
“It was no easy feat to try to plan something like this during the holidays, but I am so glad that so many friends and family members pitched in to donate these important items,” Lahbati wrote on her blog entry.
“Chard, Zion, and I distributed the gifts ourselves, and seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces made this trip well worth the effort. I truly hope we were able to make their Christmas a little bit happier,” she added expressing hope.
The couple is expecting something big this 2018 as they prepare to welcome another child, to be followed by their wedding. /ra
