Maxene Magalona wished that her father, the late master rapper Francis M, could walk her down the aisle, and in some way, it came true.
The glowing bride shared a video of herself in tears as she walked to his song “Girl Be Mine”. In the middle of the aisle, she met mom Pia Arroyo whom she embraced before heading towards now-husband Rob Mananquil.
In her caption, Maxene says she believed her dad was present that day as a brown butterfly fluttered past her before she met her mom.
The video shows a butterfly indeed flying behind her while she was in the first half of the aisle.
Model and entrepreneur Rissa Mananquil-Trillo, sister to Rob, confirmed in another post that the guests saw the butterfly themselves.
Maxene also mentioned her father in her heartfelt wedding vows and told Rob, “If he were here today, I just know how much he would love you.”
The reception also paid tribute to the master rapper. Younger brother Elmo performed “Cold Summer Nights” with love team partner Janella Salvador. He also performed “Three Stars and a Sun” with his brothers.
Pia performed “Girl Be Mine” and the newlyweds sang “Kaleidoscope World” in the place of a father-daughter dance.
Francis M passed away in 2009 after battling leukemia. JB
