The Black Eyed Peas have released a politically charged new track accompanied by a black-and-white video set to images of key historical moments in the civil rights and Black Lives Matter movements.

The group tweeted news of the single’s release on Tuesday along with the message “We have the POWER to make change together. …These issues are critical for our families, friends, communities, and world. Stay Woke, Take Action Now.”

In the “Street Livin'” video, a number of historical scenes are shown in black and white, with the mouths of the musicians superimposed over those of figures such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X.

“Street Livin'” is the Black Eyed Peas’ first new music since the 2010 album “The Beginning.” The group is currently down to three members — will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo  — as singer Fergie takes a break to promote her latest solo album. JB
