The ever bold and on-point “hugot” queen Angelica Panganiban has no qualms in sharing her thoughts about her past experiences in love with ABS-CBN’s DJ Jai Ho for the first episode of “Hotspot Wheel Talk” in 2018 that’s now trending.

Besides her undeniable acting prowess, Panganiban all the more endeared herself to Filipino hearts for her no-holds-barred attitude especially when it comes to her personal experiences.

Coming off from a highly controversial and publicized bitter separation from ex-boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz who has reportedly fathered the rumored child of sexy actress Ellen Adarna, she takes on the new year with a new hope but holds no fuzz in giving her take on issues.

Driving just around the city, DJ Jai Ho engaged the actress in a two-part question and answer portion. The first game involved picking a topic from a bowl of random things that she has to answer with a “hugot” thought. Hence, it was aptly called “Hugot Pa More Angge”.

First pick: “Kalendaryo” (Calendar).

Contrary to some who are always in tune with time, she unfortunately, is not fond of tracking dates that remind her of painful history.

Feb 14. Malungkot talaga ang ano (Valentine’s Day), aba nu’ng Feb 14 nagulat na lang ako ‘nun eh,” she said.

As to why she feels differently for Valentine’s, “Last year, okay naman kami eh, tapos nakita ko bat iba ‘yung ka-date niya? Pero tinanggap ko pa rin. Kasi nga, dati mahal, (now) sinusumpa. Kasi ‘yang mga ganyan talaga, ‘di pinagkakatiwalaan yan.

Juicy revelations indeed!

Second pick: “Karayom” (Needle)

Without batting a lash and with a bit of conviction, she said,  “Ay ‘eto gagawin ko talaga, kukulamin ko talaga sila. (With laughs) Sila?”

Then she jokingly changed gears, “Ay eto ‘yung mga friends namin na hindi nagpapakita, saka ‘yung mga hindi kami niregaluhan ‘nung pasko.”

Third pick: Handwash

“Hugot sa handwash? Ako wala akong paghugas kamay dito. Ewan ko ‘yung iba kung may sinaktan sila at tinapakang ibang tao. ‘Wag silang mag-hand wash, ‘wag silang mag-hugas kamay,” she said.

Is she hinting on a foul play?

Fourth pick: Flashlight

Despite the streak of heartaches she’s endured, she remains hopeful that one day, she will find the light to her darkness.

Sa kahit na anong dilim na pwede mong pagdaanan, alam niyo abangan niyo lang, meron talagang darating at darating na magbibigay liwanag sa buhay mo,” she said.

The second game increased the excitement a little more when it involved a Lie Detector Test. DJ Jai Ho asked the actress two questions answerable by a YES or NO and the machine shall verify is she was truthful to it or not.

Without dropping names, the questions appeared to be directed to or about her most recent ex. With Cruz’ unapologetic display of activities on social media, the first question and the answer to it might just probably what the public is most curious about.

  1. ‘Pag nakikita mo ang mga post nila on social media nasasaktan ka pa ba? Yes or No?”

Panganiban’s answer was a brave, bold “No”.

Explaining her answer is a gesture that people in the same situation normally do, “Kasi hindi ko tinitingnan.                     Hindi ko sila fina-follow saka naka block sila.”

Lie Detector agreed.

     2. “Kung halimbawang may manligaw sa’yo sa tingin mo sasagutin mo siya? Yes or No?”

Panganiban answered “No!”

Lie Detector disagreed.

She however clarified that the machine might have disagreed because what she’s not ready for is to have a relationship and not entertaining suitors.

The trending 11-minute episode released on January 5 has now garnered hundreds of thousands of views and interactions. With a more positive outlook in the new year, the versatile actress leaves the past behind and wishes no ill will to anyone.

Instead, she focuses on her blessings and looks forward to the release of her upcoming projects. Among those are “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes”, a movie she top-bills with drama queen Judy Ann Santos showing on January 17 and “Playhouse”, a series she stars opposite Kapamilya actor Zanjoe Marudo set to hit television starting January 29.

Adding to her achievements is her Best Actress recognition at the recently concluded 65th FAMAS (Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences) awards. /jpv
