Anne Curtis all praises for Siargao, calls for its protection

Anne Curtis couldn’t help gush over the island of Siargao, where she vacationed with husband Erwan Heussaff and his family.

“So peaceful and quiet and amazing food,” wrote the actress and TV host of their five days in the surf spot.

She mused about the development in the tourist spot since she last visited in 2012.

“There’s now a cemented road, loads of new hotels and restos and a heap load of tourists — which are all great things,” she said.

She stressed, “I do hope that as it becomes more developed, the government, locals and tourists learn to take care of the island as well.”

Some ways she listed in keeping the island pristine were “proper waste management, less use of plastic, less littering and implementation of proper sewage and wastewater management for all resorts.”

Curtis also hailed the people’s kindness: “One thing I’m sure of that will never change on the island—THE WARM WELCOME of the locals!”

Jericho Rosales has also shared a social media post on ocean pollution in Siargao. His latest movie “Siargao” touches on environmental conservation and ecotourism. JB
