Rachel Alejandro described her 2017 as a “mixed bag.”
“It was very busy and challenging at the same time. I have had successes with my work and business, but also ran into some problems,” she told the Inquirer.
But luckily, the singer-actress said, positives began to outweigh the negatives, as the year came to a close—thanks to the musical film “Ang Larawan,” one of this year’s entries in the Metro Manila Film Festival.
Rachel, who plays Paula Marasigan in the festival’s best picture winner, said she was grateful for all the rave reviews the movie has been getting from viewers and critics alike.
“We didn’t know what to expect. When you love a project so much and pour your heart into it, you see it from a positive light. But of course, you also wonder if it’s really good or if it’s just you,” she related.
“But hearing good words from those who saw it was encouraging; it was a validation,” added Rachel, who’s looking forward to “Ang Larawan’s” coming international screenings in 2018.—ALLAN POLICARPIO
