Sitcom fanatics may expect the return of the Dunder Mifflin staff soon as “The Office” could come back for a revival.

TV Line first reported that NBC is eyeing a return of the series sometime next year. The possible continuation of the series will feature old and new faces, with executive producer Greg Daniels coming back for the project.

However, Steve Carrell, who played manager Michael Scott for the show’s seven seasons, will not participate in the new series. A new manager will head the planned revival.

Speculations about a revival previously surfaced, but these were initially dismissed by actress Jenna Fischer, who played Pam in the series.

“I would do it if there was some circumstance where everybody got back together, and could be brought back together in some amazing way, I would say yes. But I’m not sure it’s realistic,” Fischer said in a Variety podcast in November 2016.

The show originally ran from 2005 to 2013 for nine seasons, winning five Emmy awards out of 42 nominations. It was adapted from a British sitcom of the same name by the BBC, starring Ricky Gervais. Katrina Hallare/JB
