Celebrities sing top carols’ praises

There’s nothing better than listening to well-loved carols as Christmastime approaches. They make us feel good and allow us to temporarily forget about our everyday problems.

We asked these celebrities what their favorite Christmas songs are and why:

Ken Chan

Ken Chan: “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)” is the perfect carol for me, because it makes me feel cozy, which is a word that I like. And I love being cozy. The song has a different vibe.

When I listen to it, feel na feel ko ang Pasko because it’s very relaxing. It makes me think of spending “noche buena” with my family. It’s my dream to spend Christmas in the United States with them.

JANINE Gutierrez

Janine Gutierrez: My favorite Christmas song is “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey, because its sound is very catchy and current.

Addy Raj

Addy Raj: “Pasko Na Naman” is memorable to me, because it’s the first Christmas song I’ve ever learned.

Yasmien Kurdi

Yasmien Kurdi: There are two songs on top of my Christmas playlist—one is in English, while the other is in Filipino. I like “White Christmas,” because it’s my dream to have a white Christmas. My other choice is “Pasko Na, Sinta Ko,” because it makes me cry when I hear the song.

Betong Sumaya: My favorite carols are “Pasko Na, Sinta Ko” and “Sana Ngayong Pasko.” They’re full of meaning. They remind us that the Christmas holidays are meant to be spent with your family and loved ones. When you
listen to the lyrics, napakasarap pakinggan and they’re brimming with love.

Joyce Ching: “Joy to the World.” Kasi, that’s the true spirit of Christmas, right? Christ came to save us, so we have to be joyful about it to remember Him and the sacrifice He made.

Dennis Trillo

Dennis Trillo: I like “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” because of its message.

Sanya Lopez

Sanya Lopez: It’s “Silent Night” for me, because it’s about peace and serenity.
