“Expectations are high if you say it’s a ‘Panday’ remake. The challenge is how to meet these expectations or come up with a better version of it,” actor Coco Martin says of directing the action-adventure film, which was first released in 1980 starring Fernando Poe Jr.

Martin, who also produced and wrote the film, plays Flavio III, the grandson of the original Panday. Life for him suddenly turns upside down when he realizes that his bloodline is destined to save humanity from the evil deeds of Panday’s nemesis, Lizardo (Cuenca). —MARINEL R. CRUZ
