Action star Robin Padilla sets it clear that his older sibling BB Gandanghari still has not undergone sex change.
“Hindi yata, maaring ‘yung pangalan pero ‘yung connivance [male sex organ] niya nandun pa. Bakit naman niya tatanggalin ‘yung connivance niya, my goodness. Siguro hindi, kasi sasabihin niya sa’kin ‘yun eh. Pero si ano, nandun pa si Junior,” he said at the recently held thanksgiving digicon for his reunion movie with Sharon Cuneta, “Unexpectedly Yours.”
Just last year BB was officially recognized as a female. A Los Angeles court approved the name and gender change papers which she earlier filed.
Formerly known as the ‘90s hunk actor Rustom Padilla, rumors questioning his sexuality have plagued him throughout his showbiz career. In one interview, Robin even said that many of his fights as a child were because of the incessant teasing by other children of his brother.
However, his dashing frame and undeniable charisma simply won over speculations about him being gay. Moreover, he even got married to his then sweetheart, Carmina Villaroel. They starred in two ‘90s movies together namely “Hindi Magbabago” in 1994 and “Maruja” in 1996. Their relationship however, went downhill and they eventually separated.
Back then, people blamed their failed marriage to Rustom’s sexuality but the actress never spoke against her ex-husband.
It was only until Rustom joined Kapamilya reality show “Pinoy Big Brother” in 2006 that he finally admitted he was gay.
Just like similar cases of coming out, Rustom who eventually transformed into BB was plagued with sex change rumors.
