20th Century Fox, Disney working out deal to include ‘Deadpool’ in ‘Avengers’

The Marvel comic book lore is filled with vast characters that somehow always manage to cross paths.

But the same could not be said of its television and movie adaptations in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as ownership and copyright concerns hinder certain superheroes from appearing together.

After finally gaining the rights of “Spiderman” from Sony last year, Disney, which owns Marvel Studios, is reportedly trying to strike a deal with 20th Century Fox to acquire rights of its trademark characters into one film.

According to a Bloomberg report, the potential deal will include rights to the extremely popular “Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth,” the formidable “Fantastic Four” and the wide array of mutants from the “X-Men” universe.

Entertainment mogul Rupert Murdoch has reportedly put his companies 21st Century Fox and Sky up for sale, with Disney emerging as the clear-cut buyer of the Fox film studio.

Initial talks started last month—which was a bid to introduce “Deadpool” and the “X-Men” to the “Avengers” lore— but an agreement was not met at the time, according to The Guardian.

Meanwhile, “Deadpool” himself, Ryan Reynolds, recently gave his stamp of approval on possibly joining the “Avengers” ensemble.

“That sounds like a great idea but a very expensive idea,” he recently told Total Film.

“Can you imagine the shit-talking contest with Iron Man? Oh, that would be great. But it would have to be rated R to completely unharness everybody. Unbridle the merriment and watch them go.”  Khristian Ibarrola /ra
