Ryan Reynolds signs up for Pokemón movie

“Deadpool” star Ryan Reynolds will be hitting the big screen to catch himself some Pokemóns on the loose.

The Hollywood Reporter first stated on Wednesday that Reynolds has signed up for an upcoming movie titled “Detective Pikachu” about the famous Japanese character posing as a detective.

The plot will revolve around the disappearance of a father. His son, to be played by Justice Smith, will team up with Pikachu (Reynolds) and a journalist to be portrayed by “Big Little Lies” actress Kathryn Newton.

Rob Letterman, who has helmed “Monsters vs. Aliens” and “Gulliver’s Travels”, will direct the live action film. Universal will distribute it outside Japan.
